‘In the title role Gabriele Kupsyte produced acres of ravishing singing throughout the evening, her warm, agile mezzo voice equally at home in the florid passages as the more introspective ones. Handel saves the best arias for his titular hero, with Kupsyte rising to the challenges of 'Duri lacci' and 'Vado, vado a morir admirably.’MusicOMH

‘Gabrielė Kupšytė’s <..> every role is played with captivating power and intensity. Her solo performance as Charlotte from Werther (a deep psychological staging I preferred to this year’s full production) was stunningly moving. It was met with a chorus of weepy sniffles from the audience so snotty it would have terrified anyone over 60 during Covid.’ London-Unattached

'Gabrielė Kupšytė’s amber-tinted mezzo impressed in the title role, especially in “Duri lacci, voi non siete per me rei di crudeltà”, possibly the opera’s finest number, where the chained Arminio reflects that his imprisonment will be worthwhile if it secures his country’s freedom. “Vado a morir”, where the condemned Arminio bids farewell to his wife, was also beautifully sung.’Bachtrack
